Omicron has been spreading globally for more than a month, and it still seems "mild"
While Omicron splashed into the mainstream on the Friday post-Thanksgiving (11/26), the chronology of the virus shows it has already been circulating globally for more than a month. In fact, the earliest US case was identified in mid-November. The point of all this:

- Omicron has generated sufficient case data for the past > 30 days
- incoming data continues to point to disease severity as mild

- Dr. Fauci on CNN's "State of the Union" made similar comments
- He is encouraged as there has not been a spike of hospitalizations
