Fed Week, Tariff Deadline, Congress Looks to Budget 

Wednesday is the day that market watchers have been waiting for: the next meeting of the Federal Open Markets Committee (FOMC) to review economic conditions and decide on interest rates. Like most of Washington, the Fed will then take an August break and meet again to review rates on Sept. 16-17.  The Fed will announce the rate decision at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, followed by the Chair’s press conference at 2:30.
