Top & Bottom Ideas

Actionable investment ideas are embedded in every research note that Fundstrat publishes. The Top & Bottom Ideas list brings together those stocks that Fundstrat’s evidence-based research identifies as having the most compelling near-term reward-risk profiles.

The process begins with a large-cap investment universe built using Head of Research Tom Lee’s data-driven macroeconomic framework, which focuses on identifying companies with attractive long-term reward-risk potential. From this universe, Head of Technical Analysis Mark Newton ranks stocks on an approximately monthly basis to assess timeliness, or the potential for short-term outperformance relative to the benchmark.

Top Ideas are names from Tom's large-cap universe that Mark has judged as having a higher likelihood of outperformance over an approximate one-month timeframe. Bottom Ideas are those viewed as being the least attractive from the same universe over that same timeframe Both Top and Bottom Ideas are viewed favorably over the long term and are intended for investors with a tactical focus, such as those deciding where to allocate new capital or which existing positions to trim to raise cash.

These ideas are reviewed and discussed each month in Fundstrat’s Macro Update & Top Ideas Webinar.

Monthly Webinar

Our monthly Macro Update & Top Ideas Webinar links the current macro backdrop to actionable stock selection. Drawing from Fundstrat’s Large-Cap and SMID-Cap Core Lists, we highlight stocks with the highest likelihood of outperformance over at least a one-month timeframe.
