Blinken meets Xi in China, House struggles on budget

US Secretary of State Tony Blinken went to China over the weekend for talks with the PRC leaders in an effort to diffuse the growing tensions between the two global powers.  There had not been a visit to China by a Secretary of State in five years, and Blinken was the first Biden Cabinet official to make the trip.  The visit had been planned earlier in the year but was postponed when the US shot down the spy balloon that traversed much of the US territory.
