Today, Reddit unveiled their S-1 filing, revealing that it has added BTC and ETH 4.75%  to its treasury, alongside owning some MATIC for payment purposes. Reddit deemed the cryptoassets on their balance sheet as immaterial for reporting purposes so we do not have a view into the specific amounts acquired. It is worth noting that their current valuation approach is rooted in the old accounting rules, which do not assess crypto assets at their fair value but rather at the lowest price they have traded at since acquisition. Regardless of the specific quantities involved, Reddit's decision to incorporate BTC and ETH into their treasury strategy is noteworthy for the space.
