Over the weekend Treasury Secretary Mnuchin had expressed hope that the Senate would pass the PPP replenishment legislation today.  However the bill,  that also included more money for hospitals and testing, was not approved at today’s brief Senate session.  Both Republican Leader McConnell and Democratic Leader Schumer agreed to try again tomorrow when the Senate will meet again.  Both sides believe they will be able to pass the bill under Unanimous Consent.

Once the bill passes the Senate it will need to pass the House and the bipartisan leadership has been told that Congressman Massie will again object to using a UC agreement to pass the massive bill, and some progressive Democrats have said they may oppose the bill.  Hence, the House Democratic leadership has instructed the House members to return to DC on Wednesday when they will again establish a quorum of 218 members being present and pass the bill, most likely on a voice vote.

One way or the other I expect the bill to pass this week.
