According to CoinMarketCap data, the total crypto market cap surpassed $2.5 trillion over the weekend, nearing the all-time high figure achieved in February 2021.On Friday afternoon, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved ProShares' application for a futures-based bitcoin ETF. The ETF is the first of its kind in the U.S. and is set to debut on the NYSE on Tuesday morning under the ticker $BITO. It will provide investors exposure to BTC via bitcoin futures contracts traded on the CME.
